About Me

Cakes by ween originated from love-a-cupcake, an online home business that customizes novelty cakes to order. We began by doing cupcakes and since then, we have evolved into doing cakes. In order not to create any confusion to our customers, we have decided to call it cakes by ween!

Ween graduated in 2003 from Macquarie University, Sydney with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in marketing. Upon returning home to Penang, she chanced upon the opportunity to run a cafe & restaurant business. In between running the cafe & restaurant business, she took some time off to join the corporate world. She joined the corporate communications team at Agilent Technologies where she had gained invaluable experience.

In 2007, Ween discovered her passion for baking and began to explore the opportunities. She began with cookies and then, cupcakes.  Finally, she found her ultimate passion in sugar art. 

Ween has attended numerous courses to refine her skills in both the sugar art and baking

In November 2010, we opened a retail store called 'Sugar' which is located at:
